The Vine
“I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 NASB
Stop and truly mull over that reality:
He is the Vine.
The Source.
Life itself.
He is all we need.
He is sustaining us, holding us together, defining us. His DNA knits us into who we are. His breath causes our bodies to live and move. His energy and power holds us together. Even down to our cells, everything is in unity, pointing to our Creator.
Our ability to stand, see, breathe, talk, walk, and sit is all a miracle!
What if we lived this way? In awe of our Creator as children, curious and fascinated all at once.
We come from Him and are meant to be an extension of our Creator to this world. He declares we are His branches, reaching out to those around us, extending His love, forgiveness, hope, truth, conviction, mercy, justice, and passion. As we put Him on display, we point back to our Vine, Jesus Christ.
He is the reason why we live and move and ARE. We must allow every part of who we are, every thought, word, and action, to be defined by Him. Our goal is to bring Him glory because, without Him, we can do nothing of any eternal value.
How will you choose to live this day, this moment? Are you His branch? Or did you break off to do your own thing, dying without realizing it?
Look within, allowing your spirit to light up any darkness or death resulting from separating from God. Let everything be illuminated by the power of His Word, ‘apart from Me, you can do nothing”
NOTHING.
We literally cannot function without His power holding our cells together. We cannot even exist without Him. Take a moment and let that sink in… How do we ever think we can live our lives without Him? How foolish!
I encourage you to give space for the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of our Living God, to speak to your heart now. Ask Him these questions in faith, believing for a response:
• What is dead within me?
• Where in life have I separated from You?
Now I urge you to repent for not depending on God in this area.
Allow Him to show you how to rely on Him in this revealed area.
Quiet yourself and hear His voice speaking to you now.
Finally, use your divine imagination from God to picture a healthy green branch sprouting out from a strong grapevine with beautiful grapes being nurtured from the sturdy Vine, water, and sun.
This is you connected to Jesus, vibrant and full of life, thriving in your connection to Him. He is your source of life.
The water is the Holy Spirit bringing refreshing and grace for this season.
Now, allow His life, energy, love, joy, and peace to flow to you. All you need is in Him! You have no need to worry because He is on your side and sustaining you. He will supply your every need. Surrender your worries to Him. Breathe in His life, and have a wonderfully blessed day in His presence.
