It’s been a while.
Have you ever felt really passionate about something but lacked the initiative to consistently follow through and see your dream realized? Well, that’s been my reality with writing the last month.
In all honesty, I do love writing. I know that I have books within me longing to be poured out. I know that I have been marked to write for His glory. I have many prophetic promises from the Lord about being an author of multiple books that touch a generation.
To walk more into what He has called me to I made a resolve at the beginning of the year to write on a daily basis and pursue this God dream with all I have.
However, even with all of that being said I haven’t been writing lately.
What I’ve found over the past month is that one of the worst things a writer can do is to not write.
Maybe it’s been fear of rejection. Maybe it’s been pure laziness. Maybe it’s been busyness and misplaced priorities. Honestly, maybe it’s been fear of success.
Whatever it is, it’s wrong. God has given me a gift, and I need to steward it.
I really had to think about this. Would I walk through the door of my destiny into the unknown and believe that He has called me to write, or would I return to a place of false comfort and ignore His beckoning?
I started to think about how before the formation of the world, God ordained me to be a writer. He singled me out to express His goodness and nature through writing. When I do not write I am not stepping into the fullness of what He has for me. To put it another way, when I do not write I am denying the very gift that He put within me. There is no escaping the desire He has put within my heart. I can only embrace it or suppress it.
Today I have decided enough is enough. It’s time for me to chase after all He has for me. I can’t afford to not write for Him.
In light of this, I want to ask you this question: What has He called you to that you need to start pursuing again?
I hope you too say enough is enough and choose to embrace your God-given gifts and calling.
Here’s to the journey into the unknown.
Thank you for reading
